Therapeutic Massage

Deep Tissue Massage
As the name suggests, our Massage Therapists focus on the deeper muscles, tendons and fascia in the body. Deep Tissue helps to reduce more chronic pain and tension as well as treat certain injuries. More specifically, it works to increase range of motion and can help heal damaged tissue.
Deep tissue massage uses firm pressure and slow strokes to reach deeper layers of muscle and fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles). It’s used for chronic aches and pain and contracted areas such as a stiff neck and upper back, low back pain, leg muscle tightness, and sore shoulders.

Swedish Massage (Relaxation)

Hot Stone Massage
This treatment is a combination of traditional hot stone therapy and Swedish massage and is incredibly relaxing. Smooth stones are warmed and used in the therapist’s hands to move and massage the body. The stones are also strategically placed along the body to release tension and stress. Hot Stone Massage increases circulation, decreases stiffness and tension, and treats sore, aching muscles.
Hot stone massage involves the placement of smooth, hot stones on specific points of the body to warm the tissue, allowing the therapist to work deeper with less pressure, therefore limiting the pain. It also helps to improve circulation and reduce muscle stiffness resulting in pain reduction and increased relaxation.

Cupping Therapy
Cupping involves cups on the skin and creating a vacuum by suctioning out the air. The underlying tissue is raised, or sucked, partway into the cup. The purpose of cupping is to enhance circulation, help relieve pain, remove “heat” and pull out the toxins that linger in your body’s tissues.
You usually will feel a tight sensation in the area of the cup. Often, this sensation is relaxing and soothing. Depending on your comfort and your practitioner’s assessment of the problem, cups may be moved around or left in place. They may remain on your body briefly or for longer amounts of time. Each treatment is unique to you on that particular day.

Prenatal and Postnatal Massage
Prenatal Massage Therapy can make a pregnancy significantly smoother. Among its advantages are decreased muscular and joint pain, improvement in overall weakness, and better circulation. Additionally, it helps the newborn by increasing the oxygen and nutrition levels.
That said, it’s important to remember that prenatal massages are not offered throughout the first trimester. A Post postnatal massage is scheduled post-pregnancy. This massage is intended to provide emotional and physical relaxation to mothers who have recently given birth.
